Filmmaker
Gaku Matsuda is a freelance Cinematographer based in Fukuoka, south of Japan and Melbourne. Growing up by the ocean and mountains, Gaku discovered his love of the outdoors, something he very much cherishes today. After graduating from university in Kyoto, Gaku found himself living in Australia, where his filmmaking career and passion truly began to flourish. After returning to Japan in 2020, Gaku has pushed further into all aspects of filmmaking from documentary to commercial. Although Gaku doesn't know what the future holds, he is going crazy for that.
高校卒業までを故郷宮崎、大学時代を京都で過ごしその後オーストラリアへ渡る。2年間海外の空気に触れ帰国。現在は、九州（福岡）を拠点に映像クリエイターとして活動中。定期的にオーストラリアへ渡り、現地のクリエイター達と共に複数のプロジェクトに携わるなど、国外での活動にも力を入れている。
幼少期の頃から山・海のそばで育ち、そういった背景は、現在の映像制作スタイルに反映されている。
所有カメラは、Red Komodo 6K。
趣味は、登山, キャンプ/音楽を聴くこと/知らない場所を旅すること。
サッカー歴18年。
お気に入りの場所は、湯布院。
